Exploring Successful Approaches to Digital Youth Work – Research Report 2024
Are you interested in what makes digital youth work successful? We have good news for you – we have conducted some exciting research that will be an excellent starting point for you: We are excited to announce the launch of our new report Exploring Successful Approaches to Digital Youth Work!
Ok, tell me a bit more!
The report condenses insights from the RAY DIGI research project (2021-2024), a research project on the role of digital technologies in non-formal youth work. RAY DIGI has 17 national partners. Click here for the full description of the research project.
For the study at hand, we selected more than 60 successful digital youth work projects across Europe and beyond. We examined these projects with a case study approach. Each case study consisted of both desk research and in-depth group interviews: one with project teams and one with young participants. We made sure that the voices of both youth workers and young people were heard.
Ok, but what did you find out?
We engaged in insightful conversations with youth workers and young people about key topics related to digital youth work. Our discussions explored motives and inspirations behind getting involved in digital youth work, pedagogical attitudes and features as well as success factors of digital youth work, and young people’s digital realities and needs. Last but not least, we delved into their thoughts on possible futures and visions for digital youth work.
If you are interested in why youth workers and young people engage with digital technologies in youth work settings, this research report is for you. You should also consider reading the report if you want to understand more about young people’s digital realities and needs. In addition, we also created reflection tools that will support you in developing a vision for digital youth work. And, since you have read this far, it looks like you are interested in the secret of successful digital youth work, correct? Keep your eyes peeled for our research-based definition of successful digital youth work practices.
Ok, where do I find all these things?
