Extension of a previous project

In 2023 the interview series were followed-up with fourth interview with the same participants who had attended the three previous interviews.
What are the key findings?
The learning effects on participation and citizenship competence and practice are largely persistent. Two thirds of the interview partners confirm that learning effects mentioned in the previous interview are still meaningful to them. Some participants who did not see learning effects in the previous interviews describe a learning through the project which they perceived only from the view seven to eight years later.
A majority of participants report that the positive effects on European identity, interest in as well as knowledge about Europe reported in the second and third interview are still present eight years after the project respectively increased.
Also a majority of the interview partners express that the project had an influence on their personal development such as learning more about oneself, becoming more open and sociable or becoming more self-confident.
Furthermore, many participants report, that the project participation had an effect on their decision for a certain field of studies or a professional field; acquired competences enabled them to do their job in a better way.
